Hi Caitlin… I’m like everyone else posting here; I found out about Adam while watching early-AM reruns of Lockup (insomnia sucks). Something about Adam really resonated with me – he looks like a young man who should be spending his days in the IT department, debugging people’s computers and thinking of playing World of Warcraft when he gets off work. He seems to be a silly, goofy, smart and laughable guy. I don’t know very much about his case, except that he was very young, very scared and in a situation where he was probably under a lot of social pressure as well. Life without parole seems to be a very harsh term; yes, a life was lost, but it seems unequivocally unfair that, in the same episode of Lockup, there was a pedophile featured who is CLEARLY unable to be rehabilitated from his predatory nature, yet that man will walk free (if he hasn’t already) within a matter of years. Adam just does not seem to fit with the population of cold-hearted criminals typically found in the DOC setting. I recently moved to Colorado, which is what caught my attention towards the show in the first place (I don’t usually watch prison shows). I intend to research more about this case, and I may write to Adam in the future. I imagine he would appreciate correspondence, even if it is from strangers. I am sure he is thankful to have a dedicated friend like you; keep up the positive attitude. Thanks again for the information.

Hi! Thank you Caitlin for providing Adam’s address. I know very little about him or his case, but like many others I did see him on a marathon of Lockup Raw on New Year’s day. I am not a lawyer of any kind, nor do I have any real advice for him, BUT I am human, and it pulls at my heart to see how terrible our so-called “justice” system is. I currently write a young man, named Chris Pittman who is in jail for murdering his grandparents-at 12, yet he was tried as an adult. INSANE! (I saw his story in dec of 2009 on a 48 hours hard evidence re-run) The justice system failed him, and locked him up for 30 years, no parole. He recently was granted a new trial, and was able to plead to voluntary manslaughter with only 25 years and a chance at parole in 2023. (he is in jail in SC.) Anyways, enough rambling. I am going to write Adam a letter, just to offer some words of encouragement and let him know that because of good friends like you Caitlin, he is not forgotten.

Hi Caitlin,

I’ve been writing to Adam for a few months now. Actually we really just exchanged a few letters since snail mail was so slow. I have not gotten a response from him for a few months now. I was just wondering if everything was OK. I sent him a letter back in Sept and then again (just in case mail got lost) in early Nov and still have not heard from him. I know he was in the process of trying to get an appeal and such, so he may be busy with that and school, etc. In any case, can you please check with him? Or it can be the postal service that is the problem – and if that is the case, then I would never know so you would be a very helpful medium for us. Thank you so much!

I just seen Adam on Lockup Raw Killers Next Door. I completely came interested in his case! I am currently helping a friend that is locked up in Michigan for a Life Sentence for 1st degree murder, but he was not the one that actually pulled the trigger nor was even at the scene. I have some ideas that may help Adam as well as am willing to help him. Some advice on the site to help Adam would be to put the a complete address for where to send letters when referring to writing to the politicians of Colorado, petitioning the legislature to reconsider their judging of Juveniles as adults and putting them away for life. I also plan on sending Adam a letter offering my friendship and support. Caitlin, Adam is so lucky to have you as a friend and a special thank you just from me for being such a caring person!

I too just stumbled across Adams Lockup Raw video on youtube. I’m British, live in Scotland, but do have some experience of the American judicial system as I had to endure a 2 week Federal Court hearing in the U.S in September 2009. I won. I also know a few people involved with various charitable organisations such as Amnesty International & Reprieve and you can rest assured tomorrow I will write to Adam, both as a gesture of friendship and to see what, if anything, I can do to assist him. I found this site quite by accident. I’m currently already writing Adam in jail but I’m so happy to hear he has such a dedicated and loyal friend near him as well. Being in Europe I doubt my word would have any influence on an American governor, but I’ll definitely try. Thank you for standing by him like this, I’m sure you’re a great comfort to him.

Thank you Caitlin for this information. I am researching his case. My boyfriend and I saw this story on Lockup Raw Killers Next Door and we were intrigued. My boyfriend wants to be a lawyer someday to help people like Adam have another chance at life. I am fascinated with the holes of the justice system and penal system here in America. I will defiantly write to him. When I have researched enough about Colorado law, the governor will hear from me on Adam’s case. This area is a passion of mine. Do not give up hope. As long as he is alive, there is hope. I just wanted to pass on a little encouragement to someone who obviously cares for their friend. -Christy
