The Wisdom of (Young) Ages

I have fallen short in the documentation department when it comes to my daughter’s wisdom and genius.

NO MORE!

I am hereby collecting and posting all the wacky, awesome, brilliant, hilarious, and way beyond her years gems that have crossed my daughter’s lips. (This post will grow, with new additions and old that I remember.)

1) When an older child sat beside her eating pop rocks, Mebh’s response to the sound emitted from her open maw -

“Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?”

2) Upon realizing she was going to be taking medication for her sore throat, she said -

“That must be why I was a Butch all day yesterday.” (Yes, Butch….switch the U for an I and you have her meaning.)

3) She was taking her sweet time getting her shoes on, I said, “Chop chop, lady.” Her response -

“Ok, ok. Sheesh…you’re a pushy broad.”

4) On the subject of babies;

“Mommy. If I grow up and have a baby like you I’m going to name her Diarrhea.”

“When I have a baby girl, I’m going to name her Moronica.”

5) On the subject of growing up;

“Mommy, now that I am four, will I have boobs like you?” (I’m a D cup…I assured her she had a few years)

“When I grow up, I’m going to have fur on my bum, too!” (bum is frontal as well with her)

More to come.

  3. I’m a little late to this party, but Moronica was brilliant. Why I was a butch yesterday, I should indeed be teaching my sweet little miscreants…and they can repeat it at school thus bufuddling their teachers. Of course my oldest did walk up to me one day while I was playing xbox and say, ‘Do you want to say god dammit mom? You say that when you play sometimes.’ o_0

  4. More Mebh gems-
    around thanksgiving time i ask “so Mebh what are you thankful for ?”and she says “the sand on the playground and the water on the beach” !!!i would have been blown away but by then i had a sense of her genius. she’s more poetic than any 4 yr. old i’ve ever met,to say the least…

  5. …and might I just add i’m beyond befuddlement in this area
